The Hunted

“We are The Hunted – survivors of vampire attacks who have banded together to protect ourselves from becoming cattle.  Like sharks in a feeding frenzy, they are drawn to those who have been bitten, and will continue to drain us until we become one of them.  They have spread throughout our society, and like cockroaches, they have developed an immunity to practically everything: crosses, sunlight, and holy water have no effect, and a stake in the heart just pisses them off. The only way they can be killed is to remove their head with a sword.  Our only other defense is through this website and internet series, in which we hope to prove the existence of vampires so that others may join our cause.”

The Hunted is a sword-slingin’, vampire-slayin’ webseries that’s a cross between “Buffy” and “Cops.”  One of the longest running web shows online, it’s also one of the first shows based on user content, meaning virtually anyone anywhere can create an episode.  To date, there are 6 affiliates, over 1 million views, and episodes shot from around the world.

The Hunted hosts an annual YouTube contest, offering cash prizes and judged by industry judges (note: the 2011 deadline is June 17th). Contest winners may also become official The Hunted “affiliates,” entrusted to continue producing and developing content with a dedicated URL listed at www.thehunted.tv.

There’s currently a Kickstarter campaign underway to help produce a feature film, and future plans include producing mobile applications and alternate reality game (ARGs) experiences.
